about my work
"my work intends to celebrate
the pleasures of paradise as well as highlight its
illusion."
All my work comes from an interest In
the way information is presented, how we perceive
it and what we believe to be true. This is reflected
in the materials and processes I choose to make my
work. I start with digital collages made from found
images, these may then be transformed Into screenprlnts,
lino prints or monoprints. The intention is create
a print where the origins of the medium are uncertain.
My most recent work is derived
from the garish colours and over exposed images of
travel photography. Using the pages of holiday brochures,
I collage famous landmarks and exotic flora and fauna.
The process of cutting out, layering
and exaggerating colour is used to reflect the unnatural
enhancement of the landscapes presented in glossy
magazines. These images give unreal expectations of
a place and fuel our desire to experience the pleasures
of 'paradise' and the exotic.
screenprints
All the screenprlnts are printed by
hand, in small editions on archival paper. The details
for each print. regarding size of paper, size of edition
and price are shown next to each Image.
digital prints
The digital images can be made to order,
so you can choose an Image and have it printed at
any size on gloss or matt paper. The maximum height
Is 180cm. They are printed using archive quality inks,
which means they will stand the test of time. Prices
will vary according to size but as a guideline an
A4 image will be £20 up to £110 for A
1. Please contact me if you would like to purchase
